The good news with Xero Training
There is so much free Xero training material available online, enough to quickly get to grips with the key principles of Xero. A great place to start is Xero U Education, here you can find a variety of videos and recorded webinars with everything from getting started with Xero, day to day bookkeeping and more advanced topics such as setting up payroll and workplace pension and auto enrolment. There are also some useful videos on apps you can plug into Xero.
Once you’ve familiarised yourself with the basics in Xero the next step is usually “how do I apply this to my business?” Whilst bookkeeping is bookkeeping and accounts are accounts, there’s an accepted way of doing both, however, the day to day running of each business does differ. This can be because “this is always how bookkkeeping has been done” or perhaps something specific to the type of service or product offered or the client base the business has. For example, how many of the sales are online? If you’re moving from a non cloud based bookkeeping platform to Xero, it’s highly likely those sales could not be fed automatically into the bookkeeping. Xero is able to do this in most cases so the next step with Xero is about moulding it around “the everyday“.
Bespoke Xero Training
The most successful way to mould Xero to day to day operations and embed it really well is to invest in some face to face training, tailored to your business. This gives everyone a chance to walk through day to day operations, ask questions, and discuss (possibly new) processes that will come into play with Xero. Because Xero is cloud based it opens up lots more possibilities in terms of how and where you can work providing greater flexibility. Our Xero Certified trainers usually do 2 half day sessions, giving staff a chance to take back what they’ve learnt on the first session and come back with questions for the second session. We offer Xero training in Cardiff, Newport and across South Wales & Bristol.
